McIntosh
This residential project focused on enlarging existing bedlines to accommodate a mixed screen of diverse evergreens. Several plants moved from other areas of the client's landscape offer color variety. The focal point redbud tree is carefully placed to the side of a power line cutting across the back yard. In the side yard we created a rain cachement area in collaboration with the client's basement flooding remediation technician.
Ghafari
This small residential project focused on rehabilitating an abandoned front landscape bed to provide curb appeal and kitchen herbs. Lavender and sage plants near the steps provide color and scent, while the compact native dogwood is a larval host for native spring azure butterflies. Existing stones were used to create an updated bed shape that was easier for the customer to mow along.
Zienert
This design for a northern Michigan lakefront property focuses on a minimalist selection of extremely hardy plants which can handle cold lake breezes and heavy deer pressure. Existing trees were mapped to visualize shaded areas.
Arbor
A mini project visualizes adding native winterberry shrubs to an existing landscape in a regulated HOA. Design drawings can show the thoughtful planning and plant selection to potentially skeptical audiences in a professional format, bridging the gap between conventional and sustainable landscaping.
